Director Competition

Elevate your directorial vision. A mentor faculty member will hand-select and guide you through the choreographic process.

Entry Fee$50 + $80/dancer

Overview

First come, first serve. Only 6 director slots are available.

Submission fee: $50 per piece, paid once.

Dancers: $80 each, minimum 4 dancers.

A piece with 4 dancers costs $370 in total.

Each director will be paired with a mentor faculty member.

The mentor will guide the director through the creative process.

The final piece will be performed at the Neovate Showcase.

Your music for the piece. This is required to complete your submission.

Your piece name, and the dancers in it with their studio and date of birth.

A story for the piece, if you have one. Optional.

Lighting ideas, if you have them. Optional.

Open to all registered convention attendees.

Directors must be the primary choreographer of their piece.

Pieces must be original choreography created during the event.

Maximum performance time: 3 minutes.

Music must be submitted by the posted deadline.

All content must be age-appropriate.

Props and costumes are permitted but not required.
